Saturday Football Game To Kickoff At 3 p.m.
Oct. 5, 2009 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford's home football game against Chattanooga on Saturday is scheduled to kickoff at 3 p.m. from Seibert Stadium. The game, which was originally scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., was moved to accommodate the game's live broadcast on SportSouth. Samford enters Saturday's game with a record of 3-2 overall and 1-1 in SoCon play after a 16-3 win over Western Carolina on Saturday. Chattanooga is currently 3-1 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Mocs took last week off after claiming a 38-9 win over Wofford on Sept. 26. Samford and Chattanooga are meeting for the 35th time with Chattanooga holding a 22-9-3 advantage in the series. Samford has won the last two meetings, a 31-23 win in 2003 and a 30-7 win last year, with both games being played in Chattanooga . The first meeting in the series came in 1906, with Samford (then Howard College) winning, 63-0 in Birmingham . Chattanooga is Samford's third most common opponent behind Jacksonville State (44 meetings) and Mississippi College (40).
