Football Continues Preparation For Jacksonville

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team practiced for about two hours in full pads Wednesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs are continuing to prepare for Saturday's home opener against Jacksonville University. Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said he liked the way his team worked on Wednesday, and described the practice as spirited. "I thought we had a good practice today," Sullivan said. "It was a very spirited practice, and we were able to beat the rain. I was pleased with today's practice." Sullivan said both of the team's quarterbacks, sophomore Dustin Taliaferro and redshirt freshman Connor Lowery, worked well on Wednesday. "I thought both of the quarterbacks had a good day," Sullivan said. "Dustin and Connor both did well today." Samford will practice again Thursday afternoon. The practice is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. at Seibert Stadium. Saturday's home opener against Jacksonville University is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff from Seibert Stadium.
