Tulane Football To Use Samford Facilities
Aug. 29, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Due to mandatory evacuations in New Orleans, the Tulane University football team will practice at Samford's Seibert Stadium next week. "We're happy to try and assist a friend in need during a very difficult time," Samford director of athletics Bob Roller said. "Many coaches and student-athletes at Samford have lifelong ties with Tulane and the New Orleans area. This will hopefully take one concern off their list." The New Orleans area is being evacuated due to the approaching hurricane, Gustav. The Green Wave will practice at Seibert Stadium Monday through Thursday of next week. In addition to Seibert Stadium, the team will also use Samford's weight-training facilities, film rooms, locker rooms and other facilities.
