Samford Plans Tailgate At Talbird Circle
Aug. 26, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Prior to each of Samford's home football games this season, the school is planning a tailgate at Talbird Circle, just outside of the Ralph W. Beeson University Center. Tailgating activities will be provided in the area and a meal will be served by the Samford Cafeteria. There will also be carnival-style games for students and fans to enjoy prior to the games. The carnival-style games will include hi-striker, corn-hole toss, face painting and Wii game systems. At some games, areas will also be available for special events and reunions. The Samford marching band, the school's live mascot, Libby and other spirit groups will pay a visit to the area on their way to the stadium about 30 minutes prior to kickoff. For more information in the tailgating activities, please contact David Goodwin at 205-726-2337 or dbgoodwi@samford.edu. Samford opens the season Thursday night against West Georgia. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff from Seibert Stadium. The game can be heard live on the Samford Football Radio Network. The flagship station for the network is WVSU-FM 91.1. The game can also be heard worldwide on the internet at www.samford.edu/groups/wvsu/
