Ohio Valley Conference To Stream Football Media Day Program

July 20, 2006

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - For the first time in Ohio Valley Conference history, fans will be able to tune in live as their favorite football coaches address members of the media during a portion of the league's annual Football Kickoff festivities on Tuesday, July 25. This unprecedented event, which can be viewed from the OVC's Web site at www.ovcsports.com, will be made available through a partnership with XOS Technologies, a leading provider of sports technology and media solutions to professional and collegiate teams and conferences.

"We are pleased to be able to provide fans with this unique look inside a previously restricted event," said OVC Commissioner Dr. Jon A. Steinbrecher. "The advent of sophisticated computer technology has opened the door to a new world of opportunities for promoting our member institutions and we are excited to be a part of it."

Fans will be able to view the media day program from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Central time on July 25. The live portion of the program will feature brief comments from all nine OVC head football coaches and Commissioner Steinbrecher. In addition, users will be able to view taped footage of individual interviews with each of the league's nine head football coaches, beginning at approximately 5:00 p.m. CDT.

Fans can access the live videostream and taped interviews free of charge by logging on to the Ohio Valley Conference website at www.ovcsports.com, then clicking on the football media day graphic and following the prompts to make the program appear.

The Ohio Valley Conference is the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics conference, comprised of 11 member institutions from the states of Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. The member institutions are: Austin Peay State University, Eastern Illinois University, Eastern Kentucky University, Jacksonville State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Samford University, Southeast Missouri State University, University of Tennessee at Martin, Tennessee State University and Tennessee Technological University.
