Bulldog Football Creates Wall of Pride
July 1, 2002 As a result of many changes last season, the Bulldogs have begun some traditions that can be expanded in the years to come. Each young man who puts on a Samford uniform should feel the history and pride that goes with wearing the red and blue. Currently the football locker room is undergoing changes to create a more positive atmosphere. Although the program is not in a position to build a new facility, we can "rebuild the wall" that these players see everyday. This is where former players can get involved in supporting not only their alma mater but also current Samford players. Just as it took many working together to build the wall of Jerusalem, we, too, need as former players, to help in our efforts to build our WALL OF PRIDE. To that end, the football program is putting plaques on the walls in the locker room honoring former lettermen. These plaques will include your name, number, position and the years you lettered. They will be the size of a cinder block (7"x14") and will truly be a source of pride, not only for you but also for our players. The goal is to cover the entire locker room with the names and history of Samford (Howard) football. These plaques, along with the other changes taking place in the locker room, will enable us to truly have showpiece for our current and future players. Please consider being a part of this opportunity to support our program. The sooner you respond to the enclosed form, the quicker we can cover the walls. It is our hope that when our players come back in August, they will see the past as they prepare for the future.
