Football Completes Day One Of 2006 Dog Games Monday
May 9, 2006 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team completed day one of the 2006 Dog Games Monday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. After the first day of competition the Red Team leads the Blue Team, 1400.5-1369.5. Monday's competition included the bench press, 40-yard run, 10-yard run and shuttle. New Samford records were set in both the 10-yard run and the shuttle. In the 10-yard run, Jeff Moore of the Blue Team ran the event in 1.43 seconds, breaking the old record of 1.46 set by Efrem Hill. Harris Johnson of the Red Team tied Hill's mark at 1.46. In the shuttle, Joe Jones of the Red Team finished with a time of 3.74, breaking Hill's record of 3.93. Matt Butler, also of the Red Team, ran a 3.87. The Dog Games will continue Tuesday afternoon with the hang clean, incline press and vertical jump.
