BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford senior center Graham Lemmond was named to the National Football Foundation's inaugural National Honor Society.

Lemmond started the last 22 games of his college career at center for Samford after beginning his career as a defensive lineman. He was one of the leaders of Samford's offensive line for the past two seasons, and as a senior was named one of the team's four captains.

In the classroom, Lemmond has a 3.561 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. He is a three-time member of the Dean's List and a two-time member of the Ohio Valley Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Lemmond was also named a semi-finalist for the Draddy Trophy, which recognizes combined academic success, football performance and community leadership. He was also named to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team.

Qualifications for membership in the inaugural NFF National Honor Society include:

* Being a starter or a significant substitute in one's last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, or an NAIA college or university;

* Achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and

* Meeting all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.
