Football Gears Up For Last Practice Before Spring Game
April 20, 2007 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford football team held its second to last practice Friday afternoon in preparation for the annual Red and Blue game to be played next Thursday, April 26, at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs donned full pads in the action-packed practice at Seibert Stadium. The team focused on several real-game situations after running their regular drills. "We worked on some situation plays, from going in on the goal line and coming off on the goal line," Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said. "It was a very spirited practice. We had some good long-yardage situations that I thought were pretty good." Sullivan and the Bulldogs are looking forward to Thursday's scrimmage. The Bulldog head coach is satisfied with the team and the work that they have put in during the spring season. "I like our football team," said Sullivan. "They are beat up now, but we only have one more practice before our final scrimmage. I like their attitude and we just have to keep them going." The Samford football team will hold their final spring practice Monday afternoon at Seibert Stadium before playing the annual Red and Blue scrimmage Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Admission for the event is free.
