Sullivan Likes Enthusiasm At Monday Football Practice
March 31, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team practiced for about two hours in full pads Monday evening at Seibert Stadium. Head Coach Pat Sullivan said he likes the enthusiasm he has seen from his team so far this spring. "I think our enthusiasm for practice has been as good as I have ever been around," Sullivan said. "If we can keep that up, we will keep improving." Sullivan noted a couple of players who stood out at Monday evening's workout. "I thought the practice today was good," Sullivan said. "I thought Mark Brown had a good practice tonight. Today was Chris Evans' first day back at full speed. He makes a difference and he had a nice night tonight. We're still making too many mistakes, but we are having a good spring." Senior defensive lineman Haris Kovacevic has returned to the Bulldogs after missing all of the 2007 season with an injury. Sullivan said it was good to see Kovacevic back at practice. "We haven't had Haris involved in any team work, but we are getting him some fundamental work," Sullivan said. "We are glad to have him back out at practice." The Bulldogs will take Tuesday off from practice, and they will practice again Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Seibert Stadium. The team's first scrimmage of the spring is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs will wrap up spring practice on April 24 with a scrimmage at 7 p.m.
