Full All-America Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford senior punter Chris Hicks was named Honorable Mention All-American by Don Hansen's Football Gazette when the publication's All-America team was released on Sunday.

As a senior, Hicks finished second in the Ohio Valley Conference in punting, averaging 42.2 yards per punt. He placed 17 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line, and he had a long punt of 61 yards.

During the 2006 season, Hicks was named OVC Specialist of the Week twice. He earned the honor after averaging 46.3 yards on nine punts at Georgia Tech, and again after averaging 40.2 yards on five punts at Murray State.

At the conclusion of the season, Hicks was named second-team All-Conference by the OVC.
