BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team will hold its first scrimmage of spring practice Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Seibert Stadium.

Head Coach Bill Gray said the scrimmage is scheduled to last around two hours, and will consist of about 90 to 110 plays.

"We don't get many chances during the spring to turn it loose and just play," Gray said. "This is our first scrimmage, so we are excited to see how it goes."

The scrimmage will be just the second time the Bulldogs have worked in full pads in the spring. The team's first two practices, on Monday and Thursday, were in helmets and shorts, and the team is scheduled to practice in full pads Friday afternoon.

Following the Saturday's scrimmage, the team will practice again on Monday. Monday's workout, which will be in full pads, is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
