Football Adds Junior College Transfer

Jan. 26, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football program has signed junior college transfer tight Chris Spivey, head coach Pat Sullivan announced on Saturday.

"We had a need at tight end we needed to fix immediately and Chris fits that mold perfectly," Sullivan said. "He's an athlete with the ability to catch some option routes and he fits exactly what we were looking for."

Chris Spivey (6-4, 260, Jr., TE, Perry, Ga./Georgia Military College) played the last two seasons at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Ga., playing for Coach Bert Williams.

Spivey, a native of Perry, Ga., played high school football at Perry High School.
