Samford Falls To Jacksonville State, 39-7

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Anthony Mayo threw two touchdown passes and Reggie Stancil added another to lead Jacksonville State to a 39-7 win over Samford on Saturday.
Jacksonville State (4-0) racked up 229 passing yards, including a 47-yard scoring pass from Stancil to Ralph Jenkins with 5:04 remaining in the third quarter.
Samford (1-3) scored its only touchdown with a minute left in the third quarter as Josh Kellett hit Aryvia Holmes on an 8-yard pass. Kellett passed for a total of 124 yards.
Jacksonville State scored 19 points in the second quarter, including a 19-yard scoring pass from Mayo to Jenkins.
Rondy Rogers ran for 149 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter as Jacksonville State rushed for a total 340 yards, compared to Samford's 80.
Roger Bell scored on a 7-yard run with 5:32 remaining in the second.
Jacksonville State totaled 545 offensive yards to Samford's 226.
