Joshua Taylor enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Samford football staff. He serves as a defensive assistant coach and video coordinator.

Taylor's duties at Samford include coordinating video operation for the football office and assisting with the defense.

Taylor comes to Samford after spending last season at Pleasant Grove High School. At Pleasant Grove, he coached linebackers for the varsity team and he was the defensive coordinator for the junior varsity squad. Taylor also served as the game film editor, and he was the head coach of the ninth-grade baseball team.

Taylor was a member of the Samford football team from 2000 to 2004. As a senior in 2004, he was named one of the team's captains, and he was fifth on the team with 53 tackles. He finished 181 career tackles.

Taylor is a 2005 graduate of Samford with a B.S. degree in physical education.
