Brandon Herring enters his first season on the Samford coaching staff. Herring will coach the Bulldogs' offensive line.

Under Herring's tutelage, offensive linemen Andy Galloway (2004), Matt Batusic (2005) and Julius Wilson (2005 and 2006) were named All-Conference for Conference USA. The 2005 Blazer offense averaged a school-record 434.6 yards per game.

Following his senior season in 1999, Herring started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at UAB, working with the offense.
