SAMFORD: Samford is coming off a 74-63 loss at Jacksonville State in head coach Jimmy Tillette's first bid at reaching the 100 win mark for his career. The Bulldogs were just 3-12 from three-point range in the first half against JSU. Samford leads the Atlantic Sun and ranks 20th nationally in FT shooting at 75%. The single-season Samford record is 75.9% set during the 1995-96 season. Phillip Ramelli leads the Bulldogs averaging 11.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Over the last three games he is averaging 15 points and eight rebounds per contest. Ramelli is 3rd in the A-Sun in FG percentage at 60.0 percent. The Samford record for best FG percentage over one season is 60.5 percent by Randy Morgan in 1974-75. Samford is second in the A-Sun in field goal percentage and shot a season-high 70 percent against Georgia State in their first meeting of the season. Samford is 5-0 in conference games when it scores 70 points or more and 7-1 overall. The Dogs are 1-6 in conference games when they fail to reach 70 points.

GEORGIA STATE: The Panthers dropped their third straight by felling to Belmont 72-57 on Thursday playing with just seven players due to the suspension of Trello Galloway. He will return to the line up for Saturday's game. Nate Williams leads the team in scoring and is second in the Atlantic Sun averaging 17.8 points per game he also grabs a team-high 6.2 rebounds a game. Leroy Davis and Lamont McIntosh each average 13.4 points per game. The three combine for 44.3 of the Panthers 74.3 ppg. All five GSU starters played over 30 minutes against Belmont with McIntosh playing 38 minutes. Davis and Cedrick Patton each had double-doubles against Belmont as GSU pulled down 40 rebounds against the Bruins. For the season, GSU shots 46 percent from the floor, 35 percent from long range, and 72 percent from the free throw line. The Panthers out rebound their opponents by two per game but have allowed opponents to shot 46 percent from the floor against them.

INSIDE STUFF: Georgia State leads the all-time series 23-21 after Samford's 80-78 victory in Birmingham on Jan. 18. The Panthers have won the last three meetings in Atlanta since Samford's 58-57 victory on Feb. 5, 2000. GSU is 13-8 all-time against Samford in Atlanta.

NEXT: The Bulldogs will return home for its final home stand of the season. Samford will face Gardner-Webb on Thursday in what is now an 8 p.m. tip-off.
