Samford and Georgia State have met 42 times, with the Panthers holding a 22-20 edge in the series. Samford won the latest meeting, a 63-59 victory on Jan. 19 which tied the mark at 10-10 of games in Birmingham. Prior to that game, the Panthers had won five of the last seven meetings overall and the last three in the Magic City.

GSU holds a 12-7 advantage in Atlanta, including a sweep of last year's meetings in the regular season and in the conference tournament semi-finals. The last time Samford won in Atlanta was a 58-57 victory on Feb.5, 2000.

Samford is on a two-game losing streak, while the Panthers defeated have won two straight over Campbell and Jacksonville State. The Panthers are looking for their second three-game winning streak of the season, while the Bulldogs want to avoid their second three-game skid with a win.
