Bulldogs at Jacksonville State
Jan. 22, 2002 Samford leads the all-time series with Jacksonville State 42-33 and the Bulldogs have won two of the last three games in Jacksonville. Since Jacksonville State joined the Atlantic Sun Conference (formerly Trans America Athletic), the Bulldogs post a 9-4 record against the Gamecocks. The Gamecocks defeated the Bulldogs 59-57 on Jan. 2, the first time a JSU won in Seibert Hall since 1974. Samford swept last year's games, winning 68-61 in Birmingham on Jan. 20 and 61-53 on Jan. 27 in Jacksonville. JSU leads the series 19-14 in Jacksonville, but the Bulldogs are 3-3 in Jacksonville since the Gamecocks joined the conference. Samford is coming off a pair of conference wins over Campbell and Georgia State and looks to tie its longest win streak of the season at three with a win tonight. JSU has lost four of its last five games, including a 84-79 loss to Campbell on Jan. 19.
