MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) - Marc Salyers scored 23 points and Derrick Jones added 22 to lead Samford to a 63-59 win over Morehead State on Saturday night.

Kyle Umberger scored 18 to lead four Eagles in double figures. Ricky Minard added 15, Greg Hendricks had 12 and Iker Lopez had 11 for Morehead State (3-2).

The Bulldogs (2-4) led most of the game and carried a two-point lead into the game's final minute. Marquis Sykes missed a layup that would've tied the game with 47 seconds left and Salyers iced the game with a pair of free throws with seven seconds remaining.

Samford went 23-of-42 from the floor (55 percent), including 10-of-23 from 3-point range (44 percent).

Morehead State lost despite outrebounding Samford 28-26 and committing only 11 turnovers. The Eagles went 24-of-52 from the floor (46 percent), including 3-of-14 from 3-point range (21 percent).
