Men's Basketball Fells Florida Atlantic, 68-50

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - Philip Ramelli went 8-for-8 at the free throw line and scored 21 points to lead Samford 68-50 over Florida Atlantic Saturday.
Corey Green and Chris Weaver added 16 and 11, respectively, for Samford (14-12, 11-7 Atlantic Sun Conference).
The Bulldogs opened the game with a 16-5 run behind 52 percent shooting from the field.
Florida Atlantic (14-11, 11-7) clawed to 21-16 with six minutes remaining in the half, but the Bulldogs outscored the Owls 13-8, and closed the half ahead 34-24.
Samford returned to the floor to shoot 64 percent during the second half. The Bulldogs entered the game 212-586 from beyond the three point line, but Florida Atlantic held them to 4-of-13.
Raheim Brown led Florida Atlantic with 13 points and shared a team high
seven rebounds with Daryl Dingle.
