CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The Samford basketball team couldn't overcome a 39-15 halftime deficit Saturday on the road against the first-place College of Charleston Cougars. In the second game of their three-game Southern Conference road trip, the Bulldogs outscored the Cougars 39-36 in the final period, but the College of Charleston cruised to a 75-54 victory in front of a sell-out crowd at Carolina First Arena.
