DeLand, Fla. - - Samford will play No. 5 seed Jacksonville at 11 a.m. Thursday morning in the first elimination game of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament at Melching Field. The Dolphins (26-30) lost to FAU, 4-2 Wednesday afternoon.

UCF rallied to defeat the Bulldogs, 7-5 in the opening round after Samford 4-1 going into the bottom of the seventh. Eli Iorg and Joe Denson each went 2-for-4 in the loss.

In the last meeting with Jacksonville, junior right-handed pitcher Frank Allen Yeilding held Jacksonville to one hit and no runs through seven innings and junior center fielder Sae Evans went 4-for-4 with four RBI as Samford won the series opener, 6-1.

The Dolphins swept the Saturday doubleheader, 5-4 and 2-1 and had to rally both times.

Junior right-hander Ehren Wassermann (6-3, 3.96 ERA) will get the start on the mound while JU will start right-hander Bryan Williams (7-3, 2.34 ERA).

The winner of the game will play the loser of the game between No.2 seed FAU and No. 3 seed Stetson.
