DeLand, Fla. - Freshman right-handed pitcher Alan Bryan and freshman shortstop Eli Iorg were named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshmen team announced by the league office Monday.

Bryan, a native of Collierville, Tenn., finished 4-7 overall with a 5.54 ERA in 17 appearances and 11 game starts. He struck out 55 batters in 76.1 innings while walking only 13 batters. Bryan finished with a 4.32 ERA in conference play while striking out 20 in 33.1 innings. He picked up wins against VMI, UT-Martin, Jacksonville St. and McNeese St.

Iorg, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., started 46-of-48 games at shortstop this season. He currently is hitting .293 with 11 doubles and 26 RBI overall. In conference games, Iorg drove in 16 runs hitting .293 while recording six runs.

No. 6 Samford will play No. 1 seed UCF in the first round of the A-Sun tournament at 11 a.m. (EST) in DeLand, Fla.
