Baseball Earns No. 2 Seed For Upcoming OVC Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford baseball team has earned a No. 2 seed in the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, to be held in Paducah, Ky., May 21-25. With the No. 2 seed, Samford earns a first-round bye in the tournament. Samford will play its first game of the tournament on Thursday, May 22, at 2:30 p.m. at Brooks Stadium. Samford will play the highest-seeded team of the winners of Wednesday's games. In Wednesday's games, No. 4-seeded Eastern Illinois takes on No. 5 Tennessee Tech at 2:30 p.m., and third-seeded Austin Peay and sixth-seeded Southeast Missouri meet at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, the losers of Wednesday's games will play at 11 a.m. in an elimination game. After Samford meets the highest seed of Wednesday's winners at 2:30 p.m., top-seeded Jacksonville State will meet the lowest seed of the winners at 6:30 p.m. The championship game of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. All Tournament games will be streamed live and on-demand on OVCSports.TV.
