Macon, Ga. - Frank Allen Yeilding was named the Atlantic Sun Pitcher-of-the-Week on Monday afternoon as he held #22 Alabama to just one hit over five innings to earn the victory. It was Yeilding's first start in over a month as he has been recovering from an arm injury.

Yeilding, a senior right-hander from Birmingham, Ala., earned his first A-Sun Pitcher-of-the-Week honor this season by shutting down the Crimson Tide offense as Samford upset #22 Alabama, 8-2. Yeilding threw five innings of shutout baseball, limiting Alabama to just one hit while striking out four and allowing just one walk. Yeilding stands at 2-6 overall with a 4.89 ERA. Yeilding was the second Bulldog to earn Pitcher-of-the-Week honors this season. Ehren Wassermann shared the honor with Jacksonville State's Jessie Corn back on April 7.

Samford (16-31, 7-20) returns to the diamond on Friday when the Bulldogs travel to Atlanta to face Georgia State in a three-game Atlantic Sun series.
