High School: Played at Grissom High School in Huntsville, Ala. . . . named first-team All-State . . . earned Metro Pitcher of the Year honors . . . posted a 3.26 ERA with 142 strikeouts and just 38 walks . . . set a school record with 16 strikeouts in one game.
