Senior Bulldog Cameron Bean Named SoCon Runner Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Samford men's cross country runner Cameron Bean has been named the Southern Conference Runner of the Week as voted on by the conference head cross country coaches, the league office announced Wednesday. Bean ran a personal best time of 23:50 at the Auburn Tiger Invitational to finish 28th out of 213 runners. His performance helped lead the Bulldogs to a 14th-place finish out of 36 teams. The senior has finished first for the Bulldogs and improved his time at every meet this season. Other nominees for this week's award were Elon's Rick Myers and Appalachian State's Asmeron Desta. The Bulldogs will compete in the final meet before the conference championships this Saturday, Oct. 11. Samford will participate in the Furman Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C., this weekend.
