Hillary Neal Named Freshman Of The Year For Outdoor Track

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Ohio Valley Conference office announced Thursday the outdoor track post-season award winners at voted on by league coaches. Freshman Bulldog Hillary Neal was named Female Freshman of the Year. Neal has the OVC's best times in both the 800 and 1,500-meter events. Those times (2:11.05/800m, 4:28.87/1500m) are also Samford school records. The Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., native was named the OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week of March 25th. She was also the OVC's Freshman of the Year in cross country. Neal joins the Bulldogs as they compete in the OVC Outdoor Championships this weekend, May 2-3, at the Southeast Missouri Stuber Track Complex in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
