BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford track and field team will participate in the premier spring event, The Sea Rays Relays, hosted by the University of Tennessee this weekend. The 41st annual meet, formerly known as the Dogwood Relays, is being hosted throughout the weekend at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium on the Tennessee Campus.

The event began Wednesday with the decathlon which will wrap up Thursday evening. Friday and Saturday hold the slate of track and field events that the Samford team will participate in.

The Bulldogs come off a solid weekend at the Gem of the Hills meet hosted by OVC foe Jacksonville State. Samford placed over 30 athletes in the top 10 of their events, while one Bulldog, Steve Baker, set a new personal record in the javelin throw.
