Samford Track And Field Opens Outdoor Season At Southern Miss Invitaitional

HATTIESBURG, Miss. ---- The Samford track and field team opens the outdoor season at the Southern Miss Invitational this Saturday, March 15. The Bulldogs come off a fifth place finish on both sides at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship two weeks ago.

The event, which will be held at the Marshall Bell Track and Field Complex, will be split into two sessions. The first session begins at 10:30 a.m. with field events, including javelin, hammer throw, long jump, high jump, pole vault, triple jump, shot put, and discus throw, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. and is the last event in session one. The second session begins at 12:00 p.m. and includes the steeplechase, 4x100 relay, 1500 meter run, 100-, 110-, and 400-meter hurdles, 400- and 100-meter dashes, 800-meter run, 5000-meter run and the 4x400 relay.
