GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Two members of the Samford women's track and field team competed in the Florida Last Chance Meet Thursday afternoon at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.

Lauren Blankenship finished first in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:38.42, less than three seconds from the NCAA provisional qualifying mark. April Howell finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles, running the event in 8.01.

The Samford track and field teams will compete in Florida State's Snowbird Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday and Saturday.
