BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford University track and field team will compete in the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday. The Bulldog men will try to better their 2006 third place performance while the Bulldog women make an attempt to better their fourth place.

The Bulldogs had a total of 11 All-OVC performances and scored in 16 events in last year's competition. Robyn DeBenedet, Kady Decker, Daphne Anderson, Ashley Flowers, Cameron Cardwell, Michael Smith and Cameron Bean are among the Bulldogs who earned all-conference honors in last season's event and will be making another appearance this year.

The Championships, hosted by Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill., will commence at 4 p.m. CT on Friday and resume Saturday morning at 11 a.m. CT.
