NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Samford junior Pete Fox was named Ohio Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week today by the league office in Nashville, Tenn. The Chattanooga, Tenn. native set the school record in the weight throw over the weekend.

Fox broke the old record set by Keeton Blankeney by almost two feet, throwing the 35-pound weight 48'50.00 feet at the Clemson Invitational on February 14. His toss was good for 10th overall in the competition and is fourth best in the OVC this year.

Fox and the Bulldogs will compete for the OVC Indoor Championship on February 27-28 in Charleston, Ill.
