BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford track and field team will be in Johnson City, Tenn., this weekend as it competes in its second event of the season. The Bulldogs join teams from all over the nation in the 6th Annual Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University.

Samford comes off an outstanding opening performance at the Saluki Booster Invitational last weekend. The Bulldogs placed 15 in the top 10 of several events, and the team hopes to have another great performance this weekend against some of the top teams in the nation.

The meet will showcase some of the world's top collegiate, post collegiate, and professional athletes in the nation. Over 1,000 athletes from 60 universities will compete in the two-day event that will be held in the ETSU Memorial Center.

The Niswonger Invitational will feature six elite invitational events including women's and men's 3000 meter, women's and men's 60 meter dash, and women's and men's 60 meter hurdles.

The meet begins at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, and will conclude at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. For a full recap of Samford performances, visit www.samfordsports.com.
