BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford Track and Field team begins its indoor season Friday at the Saluki Booster Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois University. The Bulldogs will participate in two days of competition before returning home to begin preparing for next week's meet at the Niswonger Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn.

Samford returns four seniors to this year's team filled with young talent. Senior Bulldogs William Atwell, Daphne Anderson, Katie Lantz, and Niki Therrien welcome 21 new Bulldogs to the field this season. Coupled with the abundance of new talent, Samford's 12 juniors and eight sophomores bring experience back to the team for the 2007 campaign.

The Bulldogs will start competition at the Saluki Booster Invitational on Friday, Jan. 19 and will conclude the event on Saturday, Jan. 20. For results from Samford's first weekend of competition, check the official Samford athletic website, .
