BATON ROUGE, La. - Samford had two members of its women's track and field team compete on the second day of the NCAA Mideast Regional, hosted by Louisiana State University, on Saturday.

April Howell was the top finisher for Samford, coming in 18th in the women's triple jump. Howell had a jump of 40-00.75 in the finals of the event, setting a new school record.

Jessica Brewer finished 23rd in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:32.04.
