BATON ROUGE, La. - Two members of the Samford women's track and field team competed on the first day of the NCAA Mideast Regional, hosted by Louisiana State University, on Friday night.

Lauren Blankenship competed in the finals of the 5,000-meter run, setting a school record finishing the event in 17:31.44, good for a 19th-place finish.

Jennifer Craig finished 15th in the preliminaries of both the 100-meter run and the 200-meter run. In the 100, Craig had a time of 11.78, while she finished the 200 in a school-record 24.17.

The NCAA Regional will conclude on Saturday with events running throughout the day.
