Freshmen Bulldogs Break Four School Records at Twilight Invitational

Final Stats

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Freshmen LaToya Cunningham, Paul Teinert, Hannah Smith and Sarah Clement all broke school records and Samford won six events at the Samford Twilight Invitational at Seibert Stadium Saturday.

Cunningham set a school record in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 24.82 and recorded a personal best in the 100 meters with a time of 12:18 on her way to winning both events. Teinert won the javelin throw with his school best 56.74 meters.

Smith finished third in the women's shot put with a school best 11.42 meters. Clement followed with a third place finish in the women discuss throw setting a new school record with a throw of 36.93 meters.

Andrew Spear, in his last event at Samford, ran a personal best of 15:11.42 in the 5000 meters while Chad Johnson recorded a personal best of 15:12.81 also in the 5000 meters.

David Henson (400 meter hurdles), Josh Jones (pole vault) and Erin Giesa (3000 meters) also all won their respective events.
