GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Brett Baddorf finished second in the men's 3000-meter run to highlight the participation of four Samford track and field athletes in the University of Florida Last Chance Qualifier on Thurs., Feb. 28.

Baddorf posted a time of 8:44.17 in the 3000 meters to finish second behind Bethune-Cookman's Ben Chesang, who ran it in 8:32.78.

Also competing, Paul von Herrmann ran the 800 meters in 1:53.63, finishing seventh.

In the women's mile, Katie Flewellyn posted a time of 5:09.79.

Also for the women, Leah Reed ran the 800 meters in 2:18.19.

Samford opens the outdoor track and field season by hosting the Samford Classic at Seibert Stadium on Sat., Mar. 9. Field events begin at noon and track events begin at 2 p.m. on the Samford University campus.
