CLEMSON, S.C. - Samford track and field completed its final warm-up before the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships with a trip to the Clemson Invitational. The Bulldogs broke two school records and had several top ten finishes.

"I though that we ran fairly well this afternoon," Head coach Glenn McWaters. "Once again our distance events were strong for both the men and the women. We still have some things that we need to work on before the OVC meet, but we will be ready."

The men's and women's distance relay teams finished third out of 25 teams in 10:42 and 12:40, respectively. Lauren Blankenship, Jessica Brewer and Michelle Brewer all had solid mile times finishing, 5:14, 5:17 and 5:20 for fifth, eighth and 11th place. Bryan Baddorf finished fifth in the 3000m in 8:41.

Pete Fox broke the school record in the weight throw tossing 48.5' while April Howell broke the school record in the triple jump. Trent Schmidt finished fifth in the pole vault jumping 14'11. Jennifer Craig finished the 60m in 7.63 for fourth place and the 200m in 25.13 for third.

The OVC Indoor Championships are February 27-28 in Charleston, Ill.
