The women's 4x400-meter relay team set a school record on the day as well. The Bulldog foursome of Kady Decker, Mary Nunnally, Daphne Anderson and Ashley Flowers ran a 3:59.46 and finished seventh overall and second in heir heat.

Michelle Brewer ran a 10:23.55 in the women's 3000 meters to finish fifth overall. Brewer's time was a personal record. In the men's 3000 meters, Cameron Bean ran a personal record time of 8:51.86 to finish ninth overall and sixth among collegiate athletes.

"We were really pleased today," said Samford head coach Glenn McWaters. "Yesterday the kids weren't able to do much, but they did very well today. The way they performed today is going to bode well for the Conference Championship in a couple weeks."

The Samford University track and field team returns to action on Feb. 24, when it heads to Nashville for the 2006 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
