CLEMSON, S.C. ---- The Samford track and field team got off to a great start in the first day of the Clemson Tiger Invitational Friday. Sophomores Cameron Bean and Cameron Cardwell set new Samford track and field records, while both the men's and women's teams placed in the top three of their respective distance medley events.

Cameron Bean set a new personal best and a new Samford record in the 5000-meter event as he came in first place with a time of 14:58. Cameron Cardwell also set a new personal record as well as a new Samford women's record in the pole vault with a height of 11'6".

The Bulldogs will continue competition in the Tiger Invitational Saturday. For results of Saturday's competition, go to www.samfordsports.com.
