2008 SoCon Fall Academic All-Conference Team

2007-08 (Junior): Indoor: Ran an indoor season best and a personal best in the 3,000 meters at the OVC Championships (Feb. 29) with a time of 10:51.89...also placed ninth in the 5,000 meters at the TSU Invitational (Feb. 2) with a time of 19:09.49...Outdoor: Took first place in the steeplechase at the Southern Miss Invitational (Mar. 15) with a time of 12:29.90...placed fifth in the same event at the Alabama Relays the next week and third at the JSU Gem of the Hills meet two weeks later...placed tenth in the mile at the UGA Bulldog Unlimited (Apr. 19)...earned fourth place in the steeplechase at the OVC Championships (May 3) with a season-best 12:05.19.

2006-07 (Sophomore): Placed ninth in the 3000-meters at the Niswonger Invitational during the indoor season...during outdoor, took first place in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Southern Miss Invitational (Mar. 10) with a time of 12:47.18...came in sixth in the 3000-meters at the Troy Invitational (Mar. 31) and fifth in the steeplechase at the JSU Gem of the Hills Meet (Apr. 7) with a time of 12:33.71...also placed eighth in the steeplechase at the OVC Outdoor Championships.

2005-06 (Freshman): In the indoor season, recorded a personal best of 11:21 in the 3000-meters at the Clemson Invitational...in outdoors, turned in a personal best of 15:21 in the 5K at the Alabama Relays...also had a personal best of 11:11 in the 3000-meters at the Troy Invitational...additionally she posted a personal best in the steeplechase with a time of 12:04 at the Auburn Invitational earning her the first place spot in the event...finished ninth in the steeplechase at the OVC Outdoor Championships.

Personal: Daughter of Don and Jennifer Almand...majoring in Spanish education...finish in the top ten at the Georgia state cross country and track competitions every year of high school...came in fourth in cross country in 2002 and fourth in track (3200-meters) in 2004...maintained a 3.9 GPA and finished 14th in her class...elected Miss Cometa...also played soccer and was a member of the swim team.
