Hollie Huey enters her first year as Samford's director of marketing.

Huey is in charge of the marketing efforts for all of Samford's 17 varsity teams.

Huey comes to Samford after serving as a marketing assistant at the University of Alabama from 2007 until being hired at Samford. At Alabama, Huey assisted in all areas of marketing and promotions for Alabama's athletic department. She performed marketing and promotional activities for all athletic department events, and she managed the department's student workers.

Huey was specifically responsible for the marketing of the university's soccer program, which set a school record for attendance during the 2007 season.

Prior to working in marketing at Alabama, Huey worked as a student assistant in the UA media relations office. She performed a number of duties in media relations, including writing feature stories for the Crimson Tide's game-day football program and the school's athletics website. She also assisted on game days with statistics and post-game media requests.

From 2005 to 2007, Huey worked as a reporter and photographer for the Centreville Press. She was the lone reporter and main news photographer for the weekly newspaper. She also sold and built advertising for the publication.

Huey is a 2007 Summa cum Laude graduate of the University of Alabama in Broadcast News. She currently resides in the Birmingham area.
